As summer fades into fall, many of us relish the crisp air, vibrant foliage, and the coziness that comes with the season. But for our homebound, elderly, and disabled neighbors, this transition can be challenging. The shift in weather often brings cooler temperatures, shorter days, and an increased sense of isolation. For those with limited mobility, even small changes in routine or environment can feel overwhelming.
That's where Meals on Wheels Erie steps in. Beyond delivering nutritious meals, we're a consistent source of comfort and connection during these seasonal changes. Our volunteers provide a friendly face and a check-in, ensuring that those we serve are safe, warm, and well-fed as the days grow shorter.
For many, the fall season can feel isolating, but with Meals on Wheels Erie, no one has to face it alone. We're here to bring not just food, but a little bit of sunshine to brighten even the cloudiest days.

A soggy start didn't ruin our day!
We are thrilled to share the incredible impact of our 6th Annual Take A Swing Against Hunger Golf Scramble, held at Beechwood Golf Club on Monday, August 26th.
Thanks to the efforts of our amazing sponsors and foursomes, we were able to achieve remarkable results:
- We raised nearly $10,000 for our Veterans in Need Meal Delivery Program - where qualifying veterans receive a freshly made, ready-to-heat meal 7 days a week, 365 days a year!
- The $10,000 collected will go directly towards veterans on the waiting list, furthering our mission to allow people to age at home with dignity by providing a compassionate check-in, nutritious meals, and grocery delivery.
Did you know it costs $2300 to feed a veteran for an entire year? With our community partners, especially the PA Veterans' Trust Fund, We are thrilled to be able to provide 30 veterans with the sustenance they need for a better life with friendly, social interaction and healthy food.
